History:
The project to organize a race on the Ste-Helene
island is born in 1958 with Norm Namerow at the head of
the organizing group. The CASC (Canadian Automobile Sport
Clubs) takes steps to the "Red Feather" which
is favorable to the project. But a governmental law prohibited
speed in the island.
In
1962 a news in the newspaper "La Presse" puts
people in agitations, one thinks of organizing races in
1963, on the Ste-Helene island where allowed speed is only
of twelve miles per hour. The project always in the head
of certain organizers, in particular in that of John Ross
who formed part of the group at the time.
The
project finally never took place, at least not on this island
only at the time in the St. Laurent River. |
