• History: The town of Granby wanted a Grand Prix based on the Trois-Rivieres
version. The Grand-Prix de Granby began in 1984 thanks to the
strenuous work from Mr Paul Pednault and Mr Yves St-Jean. Built
in the streets of the industrial park of Granby, the Grand Prix
accomodated during 2 years the American Championship Kelly American
Challenge. There were also the Formula 2000, Honda Michelin Canadian
championships and Superbike motor bike. The Quebec Championships
were also present with the Formulas Ford 1600, the Productions
and Formulas 125. In 1985 a non-championship Formula Atlantic
was added there. Unfortunately Granby had to give up its race
because of important financial loss in 1985.
• Historique: La ville de Granby voulait un Grand-Prix basé
sur la version trifluvienne. Le Grand-Prix de Granby a débuté
en 1984 grâce au travail ardu de monsieur Paul Pednault
et monsieur Yves St-Jean. Construit dans les rues du parc industriel
de Granby, le Grand-Prix a accueilli au cours des 2 années
le Championnat américain Kelly American Challenge. Il y
avait aussi les championnats canadiens de Formule 2000, de Honda
Michelin et de moto Superbike. Les championnats du Québec
étaient aussi présents avec les Formules Ford 1600,
les Productions et les Formules 125. En 1985 une épreuve
hors-championnat de la Formule Atlantic y était ajoutée.
Malheureusement Granby a dû abandonner son Grand-Prix à
cause d’importante perte financière en 1985. |
